Paintbox quilt to clean up scraps!

This year one of my wishes is to use up in productive ways some of the extra fabrics I have on hand.

I am always on the look for fun, cute, easy, patterns to help fill this need.

Well today I was looking around and found just the thing!

I found a free instruction-quilt along for a quilt that will successfully "use up" many of my "scraps" in a so very cute way!

Will be cutting soon and I'll post my progress!

One flower Wednesday

Flower Power!
here is my latest edition to my flower garden...but for the life of me I can not find that one little petal on the right! I will keep looking--it's here some where! happy sewing :o)

Here it is all done!
The minute I saw this on pinterest.com I knew my boy had to have one!

I printed the pattern and made one as is and like I expected it was to small for my kids big ole nugget!

As the directions state to make it bigger I traced the original patten pieces then added the half inch to the pieces recut resewed and wha-la here it is!

While it is from a store bought pattern the Fact that it is done and ready for its intended owner is such an awesome feeling!

Well here it is!!! I'm on a roll :)

Getting ahead of the game

Went to my mom's today to celebrate my brothers birthday. All went well but I came home with a killer head ache.

Instead of tossing my sewing plans out I decided to take a pill and go to bed and hand piece some flower petals.

Here is my accomplishment! So awesome. I am ahead of my one flower Wednesday plans!

Craftsy: BOM February

Well here it is! This is attempt #2 and while I'm not loving it I am keeping it! This is a tough one to keep everything aligned! My first attempt was not successful :(. My intent was to end with a 12.5 Inch block but it ended at 12 inch- bummer!
I recut fabric- resewed each block being oh so ever careful!!! And in the end I am at 12.5 inch square but i have to block it to keep that size.

In the end it will conform to the necessary size so I am satisfied!
So glad this is just a block and not an entire quilt!!

And now here is february's #2 block--much easier!

I guess block #1 was lots of bias edges and I guess I am not so skilled at that. Well I am happy to report that I am done with this project for this month :o)
